We get players from all over Orange, Dutchess and Rockland Counties! We of course welcome players who reside anywhere in the Hudson Valley and surrounding areas.
What are practices like? What tournaments do you go to?
We have increased the number of practices for 2018 to maximize time on the turf. Players will have 10-12 required practices in summer season (May-July) and 4-6 optional practices in the winter/spring. Optional practices are meant to practice stick skills, footwork, and general lacrosse skills to prepare for your school spring and upcoming summer season. While they are optional, they are highly encouraged. Required practices are typically 2 hours in length and are mirrored from our coaching staff’s college practices. We work on different skills at each practice, so we are always changing up our practice plans to make practices fun, exciting and a good learning environment for our players.
We combine our high school teams for all practices. Our team make up (grade and playing level) is dependent on how many players we have for each grade trying out. Once we confirm the total numbers we have, we will create teams based on age/grade and playing level (if needed).
For Summer 2018, we plan to go to 4 recruiting tournaments in the Northeast (NJ, PA, NY area)
What about the coaches? Do you help with the college recruiting process?
We love our coaching staff! Each of our coaches has extensive playing experience at the minimum 3+ years high school varsity letters and college playing experience across different NCAA divisions. Our coaches also coach local youth programs as well as dedicate majority of their summer and fall months to growing our HVE girls program.
The coaches are also mentors for our players through the college search and recruiting process. We are here to help players prioritize school selections, oversee and help with communications with coaches and schools and connecting with recruiting vendors such as videographers.
